The course, held annually in Ottawa, is provided in English by Public Health Agency of Canada staff, current and former Field Epidemiologists, and other Canadian public health professionals with expertise in applied epidemiology. In 2014, Epidemiology in Action will be delivered in two separate, yet interrelated, sessions; participants will have the option of attending one or both of the following: Session 1: Outbreak Investigations and Applied Public Health ( September 8 to 19, 2014) Participants will learn and apply a systematic approach to the investigation of infectious disease outbreaks and other public health issues, with an emphasis on applied epidemiologic principles. All applications will be reviewed and participants will be selected on the basis of the above criteria.
