I have a Asus Dark Knight RTN66U. Driver Updates Windows Vista - Apps. I have a 50 Mb/s down 25 Mb/s up connection through my ISP.

The router was working perfectly fine until recently. I received nearly all of my 50Mb/s down and 25Mb/s upload connection. For some reason my download speed has become slow and erratic. I don't get any higher than 25 Mb/s Download on speedtest, and sometimes the download drops to as low as 4 Mb/s. My upload speed remains perfect, however.

I am still getting 25Mb/s upload speed, sometimes a little higher. I have taken a screencapture of my recent speedtest results. You can see that my download speed is very inconsistent, whereas my upload speed is very fast: The problem is not my internet connection. I have tried speed testing a wired connection and am receiving a constant 50M and 25 up.

I have updated the router to the latest firmware. I have also tried changing the wireless channel.

Both have not helped the download speed. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? Any possible solutions? Perhaps the router is defective?

I noticed this happening very recently on wireless. I had never noticed before. I was running 3.0.4.270 I updated the firmware. Has anyone gotten a solution?

I'm setting up a new Asus RT-AC68U. I let it update to the latest firmware. 2.4 GHz wireless speeds were slow, only 2 to 3 Mbps down when they should have been over 40 Mbps. Upload speeds were normal at 11 Mbps.

I did a hard factory reset by pressing the recessed recess button for over 5 seconds and reset up the router. That took care of the 2.4 GHz speeds as far as Speedtest was concerned: around 44 Mbps. However, actual FTP download speeds through the wireless are still way too slow. I still have to look into that.
